Week 3 of our When You’re Strange theme is completed! Capping the week was our annual field trip to Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm. Everyone is SUPER-excited for the things to come, as this week will be our last of the theme, wrapping our month up with our annual Halloween party! Fusion parents are welcome and encouraged to “boo-gie” along with us this week!
Last week in the Green Room, #FusionKids have explored some Shocking Species. One of the neater aspects of our curriculum is the opportunity to learn right alongside the students. Learning how bats use echolocation to hunt down their prey, or how dangerous desert-dwelling denizens like the Diamondback Rattlesnake ward off potential predators is both fun and informative!
Our Blue Room students have been “letting down their hair” with the Brothers Grimm tale of Rapunzel. Like many folklore tales, there are differing versions of the story available, allowing Fusion children the opportunity to learn details from one version that another may not contain. In turn, this allows our students to retell the tale in their own way, including or omitting some details creating a virtually unique story with each passing breath.
In the Red Room, students have explored their senses of smell and hearing, and last week they continued the trend by tickling their tongues with Putrid Tastes! Only the most “awful” of flavors, such as strawberry jam, sugar, salt, garlic and pepper will be allowed to dazzle their palettes. And speaking of palettes, Fusion students have begun to recreate the works of Salvador Dali, our artist of the month. Perhaps our “tinkering” with their senses this month will have an effect upon their completed works of art? We shall see!
Another StRaNgE and UnUsUaL week is behind us! What will this week bring?! Stay tuned...
