Here at Fusion, during the month of October we engage in several events and by far, my favorite event is our Halloween Party. Throughout the week you can feel the excitement in our students building towards the day they get to “show off” their chosen costume. They delight in seeing what their friends and classmates are wearing, and you can cut the tension with a (very, very safe) knife when a few costumed adventurers cross paths! For an admitted “comics nerd” like myself, it’s a blast to discuss whether Spider-Man can take out Batman (re: he totally would; sorry Batman fans!) and to see the children “become” their chosen character. Our Halloween party is also a great opportunity to interact with the parents of our program as we would always have several volunteers partaking in the fun, helping us to decorate and keep our party running smoothly. Although I won’t directly have involvement this year in putting our annual shindig together, I am looking forward to stopping by to “show off” my SWEET Jedi costume to our students and testing the power of The Force against their
vigilante might! Letting my hair down (so to speak) in these sorts of situations is one reason, among many, why I love working with children and working for Fusion Early Learning.
