First of all I would like to apologize for my recent absence. Sometimes life gets chaotic. I appreciate your patience with me while I re-centered, restructured and re-prioritized. Which brings me to today's topic; adaptation.
With baby number one I subscribed to one of those baby talk forums that would email me weekly about what my child should or should not be doing. Of course I worried incessantly over the milestones that he had not reached and celebrated my baby genius over the milestones that he was ahead of. With baby number two I adapted and loosely based it off of baby number one. That is not to say that there still aren't times I wonder if one of them is ahead or behind.
Over the last few weeks I have had the privilege of watching them grow and flourish into change. It has reminded me that they are constantly adapting. Every day regardless of circumstance. I have to remember to adapt with them every day. Today I'm recognizing that W has come out of his shell and is growing into patience. And darling R is speaking so much more and so very clearly. Her vocabulary has more than doubled in the recent weeks.
My challenge to you is to spend the next week recognizing one thing that your child has changed in their behavior or personality every day. There are so many that should be easy. And then celebrate those milestones with your baby genius. It took you both a lot of work to get there.
