This is the last week of our When You’re Strange theme. Next week we will being Exploring The Universe in both our Preschool and Infant programs. We will wrap up our theme this Friday with our annual Halloween Party.
For the last week of our theme in the Green Room, Fusion students will have the opportunity to learn about Decomposition and how “rotters” help our planet stay healthy! Bacteria, mold, fungi and insects all contribute to decomposition, a process our students will get to see first-hand throughout the week. Rest assured, Fusion children will also spend ample time working on their handwashing skills! 😉
In the Blue Room, #FusionKids will be reading Hansel & Gretel to end our month of Brothers Grimm folklore and fairytales. Each week, Fusion kids have had the chance to read several versions of each tale. The purpose of this was to show how one or two details can change without affecting the entire context of the story,
allowing them to experience a familiar story with a slight twist each time.
And lastly in the Red Room this week, students will get their hands icky and sticky as they explore Unpleasant Touches. Tacky-to-touch texture painting, scratchy sandpaper and gnarly wet noodles are just a few of the tactile experiences Fusion kids will enjoy during this last week of assaulting our senses! This too marks the end of our time learning about Salvador Dali, as our “artist” next month will be The Hubble Telescope!
It’s been such a fun and educational month! We cannot wait to see what November brings!
